mentoring for photographers
Spring of 2016, I decided to push forward into this photography business. After months of building up a portfolio, research, and making sure I am doing things (legally) correct, I finally put myself out there. I remember the instant fear coming over me - so if you’re new to the photography world, I can relate to that same fear inside you.
Let me help you overcome that fear and fill you with confidence. Shooting roughly 100 weddings and countless portrait sessions, I’ve formed my own techniques that may fall outside the “normal” realm of photography that has set me apart from curating an image, client interaction, posing, to my editing style. For your mentor session, I will customize the content based on your current knowledge and what you would like to improve on. Now I know what thought came next: price. Remember that before investing in the best equipment out there, you should invest in YOURSELF. Knowledge will empower how you take a photo from not only a professional standpoint, but even from an iPhone image. Early on, I invested in myself and I can tell you first-hand that it payed off immediately. Let’s talk about investing in yourself!
I have a love-hate relationship with workshops for many reasons. I’ve found that there are genuine educators out there who are worth the pretty penny you pay to learn from - and then there are people who want to make money without putting forth effort to make the experience worth your investment. Unfortunately, I have been been an attendee at both settings and know the feeling of being valued and appreciated vs. being taken advantage of.
Workshops are a great opportunity to connect with other like-minded creatives and learn from someone who carries knowledge or talents that inspire you. I truly believe there is value in surrounding yourself with a community of creatives that you can look to for guidance and support. After taking two semesters in college to be an educator, it only makes sense that I find joy in helping others expand their knowledge.
As of right now, I do not have any workshops scheduled for 2019. If you’re interested in collaborating for a future workshop or would like to attend a workshop I am hosting, reach out to me and say hello!
